Gold price surged by 6.29% in November: Are bulls back in Gold?

Gold price has been in a bearish trend on a wider timeframe and has dropped by 26% from its all-time high. However, the gold price has surged by 6.29% in the first 4 days of November. The XAU/USD price has been defending a support level since November 2025. Gold has experienced buying pressure on this support zone. Let’s see how the gold price performs further.

Why is Gold called the safest thing in heaven?

  1. It has real, intrinsic value
Gold has been used as money and jewelry for thousands of years across almost every civilization. People trust it because it has physical uses and cultural value, not just a number on a screen.
  2. No one can “default” on it
A bond depends on the issuer paying you back, and a currency depends on the government managing it well. Gold is a physical asset with no issuer, so there is no counterparty risk.
  3. It’s limited in supply
New gold is hard to mine, and the supply grows only slowly each year. Governments can print more money, but they can’t print more gold, so it tends to protect against inflation and currency debasement.
  4. It tends to rise when fear rises
During wars, financial crises, banking stress, or sharp market falls, investors often move money out of risky assets and into gold. That extra demand pushes the price up, which strengthens the reputation. Examples include the 2008 financial crisis and the 2020 pandemic shock.
  5. Central banks hold it
Central banks around the world keep gold in their reserves, including the Reserve Bank of India. That institutional trust reinforces gold’s status.
  6. It’s universally accepted
Gold is recognized and tradable almost everywhere, so it works as a store of value even when local currencies or systems are in trouble.

One caution: “safe haven” means gold tends to hold up during crises, not that its price never falls. As mentioned earlier, it can still be volatile and can go through long flat or declining periods.

Why is the Gold price rising?

The rise has several causes working together, though the picture is more mixed lately than “gold keeps going up.”

Main drivers

  • Safe-haven demand: Analysts tied gold’s surge to higher geopolitical tensions and softer monetary policy. When investors are nervous, they move money into gold.
  • Interest rate expectations: Gold pays no interest, so it looks more attractive when rate cuts are expected. Rising bets on Fed rate cuts and worries about the US economic outlook have drawn buyers.
  • Central bank buying: Carmignac expects strong central bank demand, plus the small position private investors hold in gold, to push prices higher in 2026.
  • Easier access for small investors: In India, digital gold trading volumes have stayed strong because people can buy tiny amounts while physical coins and bars have become expensive. That adds retail demand.

The India angle

Per one Chennai report, gold is about 14% higher than the same day last year (Rs 12,825 per gram on Nov 4, 2026, versus Rs 11,250 on Nov 4, 2025). But international prices look quite different. Fortune’s data shows gold at about $3,948 per ounce, only about 1.9% above a year ago and about 2.6% below a month ago. That gap suggests part of the rupee-price rise comes from currency movement, not just global gold demand. That’s my inference, not something the sources state.

Gold price technical analysis over 1-D timeframe

At press time, XAU/USDT was trading at $4,123.00 with an intraday gain of 1.55%. Gold price has been in a bearish trend since late January and has dropped by around 26%. However, it is defending a support zone of $3,900 since November 2025. Gold price has taken support in this support zone and has gained bullish momentum.

The price pattern has formed a descending triangle and is rising to the descending trend of the descending triangle. If the price triggers a breakout from the descending triangle, buyers might lead the bullish trend. If the price holds over the $4,700 level, the bearish trend can flip to a bullish trend, and a long-term bullish trend can be seen.

Conversely, if the Gold price starts trading below the support zone of $3,900, then sellers may dominate ahead. Once the price sustains below the support zone, strong selling pressure can be seen, and it would be difficult for bulls to bounce back. In this scenario, it would be easy for sellers to drag the price to the next support level of $3,440.

Gold Price Prediction: Bulls Regain Control

Gold has rebounded sharply from its November 1 low near $3,890, climbing to around $4,070 by November 5. This rally is backed by the highest trading volume of the past month, roughly $122 million, which suggests real buyer conviction rather than a weak relief bounce.

The $4,000 level has turned from resistance back into support after the late-October selloff, which also came with heavy volume near $105 million. If buyers defend this zone, gold could retest the $4,150-$4,190 range, its early-October peak.

On the downside, a close below $4,000 on rising volume could drag prices back toward the $3,890 swing low.

For now, momentum favors the bulls. Traders should watch whether volume stays elevated, since rising prices with fading volume often signal an upcoming pullback.

Final Thoughts

Gold price bounced about 6.29% in early November, but the bigger picture is still mixed, as it remains roughly 26% below its all-time high and the real test is whether the $3,900 support zone keeps holding. The rally has genuine backing from safe-haven demand, expectations of Fed rate cuts, steady central bank buying, and strong retail interest in India, while the jump in trading volume suggests real buyer conviction rather than a weak relief bounce.

On the upside, a hold above $4,000 could open the $4,150-$4,190 range, and a sustained move above $4,700 would flip the long-term trend bullish. On the downside, a break below $3,900 could drag the price toward $3,440. It is also worth remembering that part of the rise in India’s rupee gold price likely comes from currency movement, not just global demand. Overall, momentum favors the bulls for now, but gold remains volatile and can go through long flat or declining stretches, so investors should wait for a confirmed breakout before assuming the bearish trend is over.

Why is the gold price rising in November 2026?

Gold has risen due to several factors working together: safe-haven demand amid geopolitical tensions, expectations of Fed rate cuts, steady central bank buying, and strong retail demand in India through digital gold.

Why is gold called a safe haven?

Gold has real, intrinsic value, carries no counterparty or default risk, and has a limited supply. It also tends to rise during wars, financial crises, and market falls, and central banks, including the Reserve Bank of India, hold it in their reserves.

What are the key support and resistance levels for gold right now?

The key support zone is $3,900, with the next major support at $3,440. On the upside, $4,000 has turned back into support, the $4,150-$4,190 range is the next resistance, and a sustained hold above $4,700 could flip the long-term trend bullish.
