September crypto PNL report: A 69% win rate and double August’s ROI

113 futures trades,  a +1828.22% ROI, and a 69.03% win rate, with 35 stoploss hits keeping the downside capped.

The September crypto pnl report is now live. It covers the full futures trading activity of the SunCrypto community for September 2026. The report logs 113 trades, a 69.03% win rate, and a monthly ROI of +1828.22%.

Last month’s report ended with a warning: August’s return was concentrated in a single two-week window, and concentrated returns are harder to repeat. September answered that. Profit arrived in every week of the month, longs and shorts won at the same rate, and the number of stoploss hits dropped.

September crypto PNL report at a glance

Metric Result
Monthly ROI +1828.22%
Total Trades 113
Profitable Trades 78
Stoploss Hits 35
Win Rate 69.03%
Average Return Per Trade +16.18%
Average Win +32.91%
Average Loss -21.11%
Active Trading Days 28

The 69.03% win rate is higher than July’s 62.50%, June’s 61.80%, and May’s 51.67%. The average win of +32.91% against an average loss of -21.11% gives a win-to-loss ratio of about 1.56x. That is up from August’s 1.45x and level with July’s 1.55x.

Together these explain the ROI. More trades won, and the winners were larger than the losers by a healthy margin. Trading took place on 28 of 30 days, with no positions opened on 13 or 26 September.

Top-performing trades of the month

Date Pair Position Leverage PNL
5 Sep STRK/USDT LONG 10x +77.25%
19 Sep TAO/USDT LONG 10x +68.83%
2 Sep ONDO/USDT LONG 10x +67.15%
18 Sep PUMP/USDT LONG 10x +66.00%
7 Sep XMR/USDT SHORT 10x +62.34%
9 Sep PENDLE/USDT SHORT 10x +58.35%
22 Sep VVV/USDT LONG 10x +53.98%
10 Sep TAO/USDT SHORT 10x +53.08%
15 Sep HYPE/USDT SHORT 10x +52.41%
21 Sep ADA/USDT LONG 10x +51.81%

The best trade of the month was a STRK/USDT long at +77.25% on 5 September. It sits just below August’s best single trade of +77.80%.

Unlike August, when nine of the top ten were longs, September’s leaderboard is balanced: six longs and four shorts. All ten trades ran at 10x. Sixteen trades in total returned 50% or more.

TAO appears twice in the top ten, once as a long on 19 September and once as a short on 10 September. Across three trades, TAO won every time for +160.30%.

Losses worth nothing

Date Pair Position PNL
14 Sep AR/USDT LONG -38.75%
14 Sep ZEC/USDT SHORT -25.62%
20 Sep ONDO/USDT SHORT -25.42%
19 Sep VVV/USDT LONG -25.04%
22 Sep AVAX/USDT LONG -24.68%
11 Sep VVV/USDT LONG -23.94%
21 Sep AAVE/USDT LONG -23.40%
8 Sep NEAR/USDT SHORT -22.77%

September’s worst trade, an AR/USDT long at -38.75% on 14 September, is also the first loss in several months to break through the -28% band that previous crypto pnl reports cited. It is the outlier in an otherwise contained loss book: the next-worst loss was -25.62%.

The average loss of -21.11% is slightly wider than August’s -19.80%, so losses were not tighter this month. The improvement came from fewer of them.

14 September was the worst day of the month at -83.29% across four trades. ONDO and ZEC shorts and the AR long were all stopped out, and an ETH short closed at +0.38%. When longs and shorts both fail on the same day, it usually points to a choppy session rather than a directional one.

VVV shows up in both tables. It produced a +53.98% long on 22 September and two stopped-out longs of -23.94% and -25.04% on 11 and 19 September. Across four trades it finished at +30.16%.

ONDO/USDT 4 1-3 +4.70%
AAVE/USDT 3 1-2 -24.90%
XAG/USDT 2 0-2 -35.73%
  1. BTC/USDT was the top contributor again, and this time the record matched the return. Fifteen trades produced 12 wins and +269.54%, about 15% of the month’s total ROI. After a month in which Bitcoin went 6-7 and still led on contribution, a 12-3 record is a clear upgrade.
  2. PUMP/USDT was the standout altcoin. It went 5-1 for +163.94%, with four of its five winning trades being longs, including a +66.00% trade on 18 September.
  3. TAO, PENDLE, and VET went a combined 9-0. Nine trades, nine wins, and +384.03% between them.
  4. Weak spots were few. XAG lost on both of its trades (-35.73%), AAVE went 1-2 for -24.90%, and ONDO went 1-3 and finished barely positive at +4.70%.

Key strategy insights from the September crypto pnl report

  1. Longs and shorts won at the same rate. The 71 longs returned +1249.90% at a 69.0% win rate. The 42 shorts returned +578.32%, also at 69.0%. In August the short book flatlined at +28.12%. In September it contributed about 32% of the month’s return, so both sides of the book were working again.
  2. The first half drove the month. Trades from 1 to 15 September produced +1209.15% from 59 trades at a 76.3% win rate. The 54 trades from 16 to 30 September returned +619.07% at 61.1%. That is the reverse of August’s shape, and the second half still delivered a strong return on its own.
  3. 5 September was the best day. Seven trades, all longs and all winners, returned +311.67%: STRK +77.25%, ETH +46.05%, LINK +45.47%, NEAR +37.81%, TRB +37.44%, HBAR +35.26%, and SOL +32.39%.
  4. 10x remained the workhorse. Seventy-six trades ran at 10x, returning +1332.11% at a 67.1% win rate, or about 73% of the monthly ROI.
  5. 20x worked this month. The 18 trades at 20x won 14 times (77.8%) for +257.27%. In August the same leverage tier won only 44.4% of the time. Fifteen of those trades were on BTC, so this is effectively a Bitcoin result rather than a broad statement about high leverage.
  6. Lower leverage stayed steady but unspectacular. The eight trades at 5x won 62.5% for +73.54%, and the six at 7x won 66.7% for +70.03%. The three trades at 15x all won for +71.39%.
  7. Commodity pairs were a small drag. XAG lost twice (-21.23% and -14.50%), and XAU closed marginally positive at +0.75%. Together the three trades returned -34.98%, a far smaller drag than gold’s -94.49% in August.

22–28 Sep 21 57.1% +181.66%
29–30 Sep 6 83.3% +125.12%

Every week closed in profit, check the crypto pnl report here. Returns were strongest in the opening week and slowest in the fourth week, when the win rate dipped to 57.1%. Three longs (SNX, INJ, and UNI) were stopped out on 27 September, and HYPE and PIXEL longs were stopped on 28 and 29 September. The month then closed with five wins in six trades on 29 and 30 September, including BTC +40.81% and WLD +46.28%.

How does September compare to August’s PnL?

Trade count barely changed, so the doubling in ROI came from quality rather than volume. Sixteen more trades won, nine fewer were stopped out, and the average winner grew by more than four percentage points. The two areas where September did not improve were the best single trade, which was marginally lower, and the average loss, which was slightly wider.

The shape of the return is also healthier. August depended on a single two-week window. September earned more than +180% in every week except the final two-day stretch, and both longs and shorts contributed.

Final Thoughts

The September crypto pnl report closes the month with a +1828.22% ROI across 113 trades at a 69.03% win rate. BTC, PUMP, TAO, PENDLE, and ETH were the standout contributors, while XAG and AAVE were the clearest drags.

Three things carry into October. The first is the recovery in the short book. Forty-two shorts at a 69% win rate is a very different picture from August, and that balance is worth protecting. The second is the AR loss of -38.75%. One trade past the usual loss band did not dent the month, but it is a reminder that stop-loss discipline has to hold on to every position, including less-liquid pairs. The third is that the strongest period of the month was the first half. Maintaining a 60%+ win rate after mid-month, as the second half did, matters more than repeating the opening-week peak.

The September crypto pnl report reinforces a theme that runs through every monthly report: results come from structured execution and capped risk on every trade, not from avoiding losses. Thirty-five trades hit their stoploss this month, and the month still returned +1828.22%.
