October crypto PNL report: +469.27% ROI across 70 futures trades

The October crypto pnl report is now live. It covers the full futures trading activity of the SunCrypto community for October 2026: 70 trades, 41 profitable, 29 stop-loss hits, a 58.57% win rate, and a monthly ROI of +469.27%.

After September’s record month, October was a more demanding one. Fewer trades, a lower win rate, and a smaller average winner all pulled the headline number down. What held up was the risk side of the book. Not one loss went beyond -22.17%, which is tighter than September’s worst trade and the narrowest loss range of the last three monthly reports.

The 41 profitable trades include one breakeven: an INJ/USDT long on 15 October that closed at 0%. The report also opens with a 29 September INJ/USDT long (+1.00%) that is counted in October’s totals.

Winners totalled +984.61% against stop-loss losses of -515.34%. The average win of +24.01% against an average loss of -17.77% gives a win-to-loss ratio of about 1.35x. That is lower than September’s 1.56x, and it explains most of the drop in ROI: winners were smaller, and 13 of the 41 non-losing trades closed below +10%.

All 29 stoploss hits fell between -10.10% and -22.17%. After September’s -38.75% outlier, October’s worst loss sits comfortably inside the -28% band that earlier reports cited. Ten losses were larger than 20%, and none came close to breaking the pattern.

The expensive stretches came from clusters rather than single trades:

  • 12 October: -53.27% across three stopped-out trades (BTC short, ALGO long, ONDO long).
  • 9 October: -52.09% across three stopped-out longs (ZRO, BTC, TIA).
  • 26 October: -42.91% from HYPE and PENDLE shorts.
  • 16 October: -37.81% across six trades, with only BTC (+30.16%) and XAU (+5.16%) in profit.

The month’s total cost of risk was -515.34% across 29 trades. The winners covered it nearly twice over.

*Includes one breakeven trade.

  1. TAO and INJ led the month. TAO won all three trades. INJ was the most active altcoin with eight trades: six winners, one breakeven, and one stoploss, for +125.92%. Its best trades were a +58.42% long on 20 October and a +32.04% short on 15 October.
  2. HYPE was a swing pair. Two longs and shorts stopped out at -21.81% and -22.17%, while three shorts returned +43.25%, +19.09%, and +45.15%.
  3. BTC/USDT was the most-traded pair again but with a mixed record. Nine trades went 4-5 for +38.13%. The four winners came from the 30x long (+50.26%), a 20x long (+30.16%), a 10x short (+13.26%), and a 25x long (+11.28%). Five of the six BTC trades at 20x were stopped out, for a net -36.67% at that leverage. It was the clearest weak spot of the month.
  4. ALGO lost both trades (-33.26%), and ONDO split evenly but finished negative at -13.64%.

Key strategy insights from the October crypto pnl report

  1. Shorts carried the month. The 35 short trades won 24 times (68.6%) for +449.15%, about 96% of the month’s ROI. The 35 longs won only 17 times (48.6%) and returned just +20.12%. That is the reverse of September, when longs generated about two-thirds of the return. Eighteen of the 29 stop-loss hits were longs.
  2. 10x was the core of the book. Forty-three trades at 10x won 65.1% of the time and returned +514.49%, which is more than the entire monthly ROI. Leverage tiers outside 10x netted about -45% combined.
  3. 20x had a difficult month. The nine trades at 20x won 44.4% and lost a net -22.70%, compared with 77.8% and +257.27% in September. Most of those were BTC trades in a month when BTC kept stopping out.
  4. Low leverage was not safer in October. The ten trades at 5x produced four non-losing results, but three of them closed at +1.00%, 0%, and +2.87%. The six stopped trades cost -107.66%, for a net of -78.51%. With returns measured on margin, small moves at low leverage translate into small gains, while stoploss hits still take a full-sized bite.
  5. 20 October was the best day. Three trades (INJ long +58.42%, NEAR long +66.76%, XMR long +7.50%) returned +132.68%. The next best day was 8 October at +115.43%, built on TAO, ZRO, and AAVE shorts.
  6. Winners were smaller, not rarer. The win rate matched August’s (58.57% vs 58.49%), but the average win fell from +28.69% to +24.01%. Thirteen winners finished below +10%, including four below +1.5%.
  7. Risk control was the strongest part of the report. An average loss of -17.77% and a worst loss of -22.17% are the lowest figures of the last three months, which kept a sub-60% win rate profitable.

Every week closed positive. The second week is a good example of why win rate and return can diverge: only 6 of 14 trades won, but TAO and ZRO shorts of +65.13%, +56.00%, and +69.36% more than covered eight stoplosses. The strongest stretch was 15–21 October, which delivered 45% of the month’s ROI.

The two halves of the month finished almost level: +252.61% from 38 trades on 1–15 October and +215.66% from 31 trades on 16–31 October.

ROI fell about 74% from September, and trade count fell 38%. Part of the drop comes from taking fewer trades, but the larger share comes from a lower return per trade: +6.70% against +16.18%.

October’s win rate is almost identical to August’s. The month looks like a return to a baseline after a standout September, with the notable difference that losses were smaller and the short side did nearly all the work.

Final Thoughts

The October crypto pnl report ends with a +469.27% ROI across 70 trades and a 58.57% win rate. It was a lower-return month than the previous two, and the numbers show where it came from: the short book was strong, the long book was flat, and BTC at 20x leverage was the main drag.

Three points are worth carrying into November:

  • Short-side strength is only half the picture. The long book returned +20.12% from 35 trades. If market conditions keep favoring one direction, a book this one-sided leans heavily on a single call.
  • BTC at 20x needs a clear setup. Five of six stoplosses at that leverage came from range-type sessions, and they accounted for most of the month’s largest clusters of losses.
  • Risk control did its job. With 29 stop-loss hits, the month still finished at +469.27%, because no loss grew beyond -22.17% and the winners covered the losers by nearly two to one.

The October crypto pnl report repeats the lesson that runs through every monthly report: consistency comes from capped risk on every trade, not from avoiding losses.
