The July Crypto PNL Report is now live, and it closes out the first half of 2026 with the community’s cleanest month on record. Covering the complete trading activity for July 2026, the report records 105 futures trades, producing a +1106.94% monthly ROI at a 62.5% win rate.
The current ROI is fractionally below June’s +1170.44%, and at first glance that reads like a step back. It isn’t. July delivered that return from 29 fewer trades, which means every position worked harder: +10.54% average return per trade in July against +8.73% in June. Fewer trades, a higher win rate, and more profit extracted from each setup.
The July Crypto PNL Report also captures a genuine shift in market posture. After a June defined by shorts, July’s long positions quietly outperformed, and the community’s exposure to tokenized equity and commodity pairs turned into one of the month’s most reliable profit engines.

July’s 62.5% win rate is the strongest of the year, ahead of June’s 61.8%, April’s 56.72%, and May’s 51.67%. Just as important is the shape of the wins and losses: the average winning trade returned +30.10% while the average loss was contained at -19.42%. That ratio of winners running roughly 1.55x the size of losers is what turns a 62.5% hit rate into a four-figure monthly ROI.
Top-performing trades of the month
July’s biggest wins came from a notably wide spread of pairs; no single token dominated the leaderboard.

The month’s single best trade was a MORPHO/USDT long at +70.79% on 1 July, taken at a standard 10x. What stands out about July’s top ten is the balance: six longs and four shorts, against a June leaderboard that was overwhelmingly short-side.
The opening day of the month was unusually productive, placing three trades in the top ten: MORPHO, SOL, and PENDLE, all longs, all opened on 1 July. The closing week did the same, with PUMP, ONDO, and SPCX all landing above +56% between 28 and 29 July.
Worth noting: the PUMP/USDT long at +69.04% was taken at 7x, not 10x. It produced the month’s second-best result on lower leverage than almost everything around it.
Losses worth noting
July’s drawdowns stayed tightly clustered, with no single trade breaking -28%.

July’s steepest loss came from a HYPE/USDT short at -27.10% on 18 July, and for the second month running, HYPE produced the worst single trade of the month, after June’s -26.63%. That’s a pattern worth flagging rather than dismissing.
Five of the eight largest losses were shorts, which lines up with the broader picture: July’s short book carried the volume, but the long book carried the accuracy.
HYPE, WLD, and ONDO each appear on both the winners’ and losers’ lists this month, with separate trades on the same pairs landing on opposite sides of the ledger. As in June, the pairs producing the biggest gains were not immune to losing setups.

- BTC/USDT was again the most-traded pair by a wide margin at 15 trades and again failed to convert that volume into profit: 6 wins against 8 losses for a total contribution of just +10.84%. That is the third consecutive month where Bitcoin has led on volume and lagged on hit rate.
- XAU/USDT (gold) was the month’s single largest ROI contributor at +114.95% from 5 trades, including a +47.15% short at 30x on 8 July.
- ETH/USDT, XLM/USDT, and PLTR/USDT all finished the month without a single losing trade 9 trades between them, 9 non-losses.
- XAG/USDT (silver) and LIT/USDT were the month’s only meaningful drags, costing a combined -85.24% across 6 trades.
Key strategy insights from the July crypto pnl report
- Longs quietly outperformed shorts. The community still took more shorts than longs (63 vs. 42), continuing June’s bias, but the results inverted. Longs won 69.4% of the time and returned +567.88%; shorts won 58.3% and returned +539.06%. Fewer long positions generated more profit, at a materially better hit rate.
- Tokenized equity and commodity pairs became a real edge. Nineteen trades across XAU, XAG, PLTR, NVDA, MSFT, GOOGL, BABA, SPCX and CL produced +291.34% ROI at a 12-4-3 record roughly 26% of the month’s total return from 18% of the trades. Gold alone outperformed every crypto pair on the board.
- Bitcoin remained a volume pair, not a profit pair. 15 trades, +10.84% total. The July Crypto PNL Report tells the same story as June and May: majors supply the activity, and selectivity elsewhere supplies the edge.
- 10x was the workhorse and the winner. 79 of 105 trades ran at 10x, generating +932.45% at a 63.9% win rate. The five trades taken at 30x won only 40% of the time and contributed +34.90%; high leverage did not correlate with better outcomes.
- The second half of the month was stronger. Trades from 16–31 July returned +580.29% at a 64.2% win rate, against +526.65% at 60.5% in the first half. Performance improved as the month progressed rather than front-loading.

July’s ROI came in 63.5 percentage points below June’s, but on 29 fewer trades. Normalize for activity, and July is the better month: +10.54% per trade against +8.73%, a 21% improvement in per-trade efficiency, alongside a higher win rate and proportionally fewer stop-loss hits.
June’s argument was that scaling activity need not dilute quality. July’s is the mirror image, pulling activity back, which need not cost you the month, provided the trades you keep are the better ones. Two months, two different routes to a four-figure ROI.
The one metric where June clearly wins is the best single trade: +85.65% versus July’s +70.79%. July had no outlier of that scale, which makes its result more evenly distributed and, arguably, more repeatable.
What does the July crypto pnl report tell us about market conditions?
The rotation from short-side to long-side profitability is the clearest signal in the data. June’s edge came from shorting altcoin weakness; July’s best returns came from longs on MORPHO, PUMP, ONDO, and SOL, several of them clustered on 1 July and again in the 28–30 July window. That points to a market offering tradeable bounces rather than the sustained one-way corrective phase June’s log described.
Bitcoin’s 6-8 record across 15 trades suggests BTC stayed choppy and directionally unclear, consistent with a month in which price action offered range rather than trend on the majors.
The standout structural signal is the tokenized equity and commodity book. Gold and silver, alongside PLTR, NVDA, MSFT, GOOGL, BABA, and SPCX, are now a meaningful and profitable share of the community’s activity. Gold’s +114.95% across five trades outperforming every crypto pair on the board suggests traders are increasingly finding cleaner directional setups outside crypto during periods when crypto itself is ranging.
Final Thoughts
The July Crypto PNL Report closes the month with +1106.94% ROI across 105 trades at a 62.5% win rate, the year’s best hit rate and the year’s best per-trade return, achieved with less activity than June.
XAU, SOL, ETH, HYPE, PUMP, and XLM were July’s standout contributors, while BTC/USDT again played a volume role rather than a profit-driving one. Losses stayed contained below -28%, with the average loss at -19.42% against an average win of +30.10%.
Two things carry into August. The first is the growing weight of tokenized equity and commodity pairs, which delivered more than a quarter of the month’s return from under a fifth of the trades. The second is HYPE, the source of the worst single trade in both June and July, and a pair worth approaching with tighter sizing until that pattern breaks.
The July Crypto PNL Report reinforces the lesson every month before it has: consistent profitability comes from structured execution and disciplined risk control, not from avoiding losses. July’s contribution to that argument is a specific one, that a month with fewer trades, no outlier win, and a nine-figure-percentage return can still be the most efficient of the year.
